Bosa is a pretty little Sardinian town on a hillside by the Temo river, a mile inland from the sea, an hour south of Alghero. There has been a town here since the Phoenicians (the Lebanese). I stayed at a local hotel, on the top floor, with a cute writing room that scans the river.
Wander up the steep slope of pastel-coloured houses to Malaspina castle roosting at the top. At one point tourists were imperiously asked by a local to give an Ape van, a waspish pick-up, a push to ascend the narrow alleyways. Well, we may as well be of some use.
I drank local wine: Malvasia di Bosa from Malvasia di Sardinia grapes and ate culurgiones in a good local restaurant, Sa Nassa.
Nearest airport: Alghero
I stayed at the Corte Fiorita Albergo.
